Welcome Back!  I hope you and ready to go for another fantastic year at Bonner Spring High School.  It was a busy, hot summer that included the completion of the following projects:

-   Sand and refinish the gym floors at the high school and PE Center

-   Replaced all the carpet and paint the media center

-   Stripped and waxed all floors and painted several classrooms

-   Replaced all the furniture in our Student Union - The Brave Cave

-   Replaced the bleachers at David Jaynes Stadium

-   Recondition the turf field at David Jaynes Stadium

The 2012-13 school year is going to be a great year.  This year we will continue the implementation process for our Multi-Tier System of Support (MTSS) to better meet the needs of all students, improve our tribe structure as we begin our fourth year of this program, begin the transition to a Common Core curriculum, and most exciting is the possibility we fulfill our mission of being a projects based high school as we work towards the improvement of all of our classroom projects.  It is an exciting time to be a Bonner Brave and we know a positive partnership with our parents and community are critical in helping us assist every student reach their full potential.  Welcome back, and please let us know if there is anything we can do to help make this year the best possible experience for your student.

In order to better communicate, and facilitate a healthy relationship between school and home, we will have four parent meetings this year. Enclosed are the topics and schedule for each meeting. Please note the meetings are different for each grade level, and specific to the time of year the meeting is held. Please let me know if you have any questions.

The Bonner Springs High School Football Team along with the Fire Department and the YMCA are teaming up to raise money for a scholarship in Brendon Kasselman's name. At the Oct 5^th football game we are going to have a tailgate party by Booster Club, Fire Department is bringing Fire trucks and will bring boots for people to donate money, the YMCA is letting us use the parking lot/helping that night and will be selling t-shirts. The family plans on attending and we will have something planned before the game to honor Brendon and his family. We are selling t-shirts with the designed attached. I am willing to take any orders from email from staff and then will buy extras to sell at the games before the date.
